My township ( Mount Holly) along with several other townships in NJ refuse to collect grass clipping. I understand that they get billed by the pound but this is so stupid. They collect leaves and brush but grass is treated like a minority. They want us to mulch. Have you ever tried to mulch grass clippings?? It forms dead spots in the lawn and the kids track it into the house on their feet.
All I ask is they give us an option. If they would give us a place to dump the grass clipping I would be happy and I would be first in line. Grass is natural material, it decomposes like leaves. They treat it like Hazerdous material. I am forced to dump it illegally or take it to the trash dumpster at work. I pay taxes and pay the salaries of this township, I should have a say in what we do with our waste.
This is what happens when you allow government to get too much power. The local government are not our parent, they are our servents since we are who pay for it to exist.
I recently trimmed my hedges and bushes and bagged it. The local trash would not take it. What am I suppossed to do with this?? If I let it grow to high, the township would warn and then fine me. Like what the f**k, I can't win. I HATE JERSEY
